grico & dakota Interview | Interview on the Introduction of marbb
Q. How has your experience been with marbb? Also, could you tell us how you’ve incorporated it into your salon work?
Mr. Kotani
When customers visit our establishment, we first begin with a plain rinse or shampoo.
I think it's better to start by thoroughly removing dirt and impurities from your scalp to condition it first. Therefore, I believe it's suitable for all treatments rather than a specific one.
We always use marbb for our guests.
Mr. Ezaki
Regarding my clients, I inform them beforehand, "This is generally the going rate for this service."
(marbb) not only increases the value of water, but it also increases our value, so,On your first visit, we intentionally provided the price, and for subsequent visits, we offer it as an added value free of charge.
Men and women alike are quite concerned about scalp dirt, aren't they?
Since I specialize in dynamic, airy styles, I feel that the movement and hair shine will also improve.
Mr. Kotani
Texture can also change quite a bit depending on your hair type.
Mr. Ezaki
That's so true. When creating a styled cut, I think the texture of the hair is really important, but using marbb doesn’t make it stiff.I'm really feeling the softness and moisture.
The previous styling, as well as the cohesion, movement, and flick when styling products are appliedThis makes it easier to bring out nuances than ever before, so I really think it will be a great supporter, a great weapon.
Q.What's the compatibility with the medication?
Mr. Kotani
After all, silicon-based things and dirt make it sticky, don't they?
I think that removing those impurities is absolutely essential when it comes to coloring, so I always rinse the hair with marbb before coloring to get rid of any dirt.
When it comes to highlights, I sometimes just apply the color as is if it’s not too sticky, but if I run it through once with a marbb, let it dry, and then smooth out the hair’s natural flow, the color really blends in perfectly.
My hair has a strange kink, and when it bends, it looks thicker just there, but if I adjust the pitch to the natural way the hair falls when it's plain, it looks neat.
In that regard, I think it's something that can be used very effectively.

I noticed that while shades like pink and red tend to fade easily even though they’re quite intense, I really liked how the color stays put when I use marbb.
Also, when dyeing gray hair with gray color, the product is often applied from the roots, but it washes out properly during color shampooing, but it doesn't wash out unnecessarily, similar to pink color.
That's what's good about it, though. I feel like the color retention is also good.
Mr. Kotani
Currently, the quality and specifications of hair dyes have improved, and there are endless possibilities for design colors in terms of reproducibility, such as being less damaging or faster. But for hair and skin, the quality of water goes up, and the value of water, which is found everywhere in the world, going up in itself hasn't happened much.
So, using it to wash my hair is definitely good, and it's essential for me.
Bleach colors have a reputation for being very damaging, but I think it's possible to not feel that damage.
So, basically, I think Bleach and marbb are an absolute must-have combo.
Mr. Ezaki
Perhaps it's always been common knowledge that perms can become limp if over-rinsed with water or over-treated with conditioner. If you apply it with a marbb technique, it comes out with a nice, clean ridge, so in that sense, I feel it works really well with other products.
Mr. Kotani
Customers who used to say they experienced itching after getting a perm have told me that the itching has decreased since they started using marbb.
Mr. Ezaki
The lingering odors also become less noticeable, right?
I don't feel like there's been a slight odor for a few days.
Q. Please tell us what you like about implementing marbb.
Mr. Ezaki
Customers tell me they feel really good.
People often say they feel like they've had a massage or feel refreshed.
Our shop is in its 14th year, and we have many long-time customers,In the end, if we hairdressers lose our hair...We won't be able to interact with that customer anymore either.
I believe that marbb creates an environment where everyone who visits can truly feel that both their scalp and hair are becoming healthier—and that’s why our clients have consistently been so satisfied. It can also be a surprise weapon that will surely please new customers.
I find that the stronger the connection a store has with its customers, the more likely it is to have marbbI think it's really good after all.
Mr. Kotani
Me too.
People say the refreshing feeling after washing and the fluffy lather are really different, so I think you can really sense that aspect. It makes me very happy that you can appreciate even those delicate points.
I feel like the customer is a little different than usual, and when they come back, they say, "I want you to do that again," and they're surprised and say, "You're not charging for this!?" That's how much they like it, I think.
Your customers appreciate you, as expected.
Mr. Ezaki
When I remove dirt and grime each month, customers say, "I'm so happy!" and really appreciate it.I knew it was good after all.
We want our customers to feel that their scalp environment and hair condition improve every time they visit grico, and the next time, and the time after that.
Mr. Kotani
At our place, as part of our daily routine, the male staff members use marbb before the morning meeting to wash their faces and hair.
Stop it, don't do it here (lol), I think. It gives you that much of a refreshing feeling, and it really makes you think how effective it is.
Once you do it, it becomes a habit.
Q. What does marbb mean to each of you?
Mr. Kotani
It broke my fixed ideas.
I realized that there are still things that can change the way I think I am.
I think there might be more technology or other things I can do if I look for them.
Mr. Ezaki
Yes.Something that would make customers even happier, a better weapon, so to speak.
Having something like that gives us more tools to enhance customer satisfaction and bring joy—to make people happy—so it really feels like we have a great partner.
Q. Please share a few words for salons that haven’t yet implemented marbb.
Mr. Kotani
I think there are many hairdressers who are thinking, "I definitely want to introduce this from now on" or "I'm a little interested."
One thing I think about it is that in order to cut it, you have to wet it, and for that, shampoo is absolutely essential, so it's like an entry-level test, isn't it?
So, I personally think it’s important to have equipment with specs that can remove dirt or reduce odors just by running a cycle—like the marbb—and thereby enhance the value of the next service.
I think beauticians around the world would see and experience it, find it to be truly good, and the number of customers seeking it would increase, so I hope it spreads more.
Mr. Ezaki
It's surprisingly rare to find something that can be used in every dish and is also good for customers, so it would be a shame not to use it.
I don't think you'll lose anything by trying it, so I'd like those who haven't used it yet to give it a try.
The customer will be happy.
For example, if you don’t have a fridge, you have to eat ice cream right away after buying it, but if you have a fridge, you can buy it, put it in, and enjoy it whenever you want! It’s that convenient—a truly great product—so I think all hairdressers should give it a try at least once.
Mr. Kotani
In today's world, with so many people specializing in areas like color or perms, I think focusing on this aspect as well would add even more value, so I recommend giving it a try.
No, but you really should try the experience session, you know.
It's a good thing, so you just have to do it.
Trust us! (lol)
